The Parade starts at minute maid field and winds its way down Lamar Street and around the Toyota Center. More than 100 groups participate, including school bands, floats and “low rider” clubs.

Houston, Texas - LULAC District VIII in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts-Houston
invites the community to its 14th Annual Cinco de Mayo Parade and Festival, celebrating
Mexico’s victory over French Forces at Puebla, Mexico in 1862. This year the event will
showcase the artistic efforts of our local community, in collaboration with MECA and
NUESTRA PALABRA. The theme is “Puertas de Arte”, “Doors to the Arts”.
The parade and festival will be May 6, 20006 beginning Downtown Houston and ending at the
MFAH-Sculpture Gardens. The parade and festival will be free to the public. We invite
everyone to attend.
